Imphal: Security forces and Manipur Police swept through multiple districts on July 14 and 15, hauling in a massive stash of illegal weapons and locking up ten suspects. The operations targeted militants and weapon caches in Imphal West, Imphal East, Jiribam, and Ukhrul. They moved hard to cut off the flow of illegal hardware in the region.

In the Imphal West district on July 15, personnel searched Ishok Mamang Leikai near Loktak Lake. They found four modified bolt-action rifles, a modified .303 rifle, an M2 carbine with a scope, and a 9 mm pistol. They also grabbed 26 rounds of assorted ammo. A separate strike near Mongbung village in Jiribam netted a Pumpi gun, two country-made pistols, four 12-bore SBBL guns, and two hand grenades. Officers also pulled out three 51 mm mortar shells, 17 magazines, and military gear like bulletproof covers and jungle shoes, alongside 331 rounds of live ammo.

Intelligence-led raids in Imphal East resulted in three arrests on July 15. Police cuffed Sanjrambam Khunjaoba Meitei and Laishram Sonamani Meitei at their homes. A search of Sonamani Meitei’s residence turned up a .38 pistol, two magazines, and 11 rounds. Forces also grabbed Ngathem Bhimojit Singh, an active KCP-MC cadre, in the Porompat area. Official sources stated, "Further investigation into the recovered arms and explosives is underway."

Ukhrul saw action on July 14. Troops hit TM Kasom and Sikibung villages based on intelligence tips. They arrested four local men: Wungphayo Kasar, Ninglum Awungshi, Lunglen Yaoreingam, and Vareiyo Lunglen. The team seized two SBBL guns, cartridges, and a wireless radio set from the group.
