Kohima: The Western Sumi Youth Front is pushing for a probe into the death of Shiwoto Yeptho. His body appeared on a Dimapur railway track on August 29. He was from Luhezhe Village in the Niuland district. A white SUV stopped at his home at 11 pm on August 28. Men inside the vehicle took him away. The youth front found his clothes gone and personal items missing when they discovered the body.
The group noted the situation looks suspicious. The circumstances "naturally raise serious questions and concerns" regarding how he died. They want police to run a thorough investigation into the vehicle, his final movements, and the exact cause of death. The group warned that violence will not be tolerated if foul play is proven.
Officials asked the public to share leads by calling 961298903 or 8787733776. The WSYF has pushed for better security before. They previously called for a new police station in Khaghaboto. They also want business groups to watch for unregistered non-locals and are tracking biodata in the region.
