Dimapur Police Seek Identity of Man Found Dead Near Village Gate

Kohima: Dimapur police need help identifying a man found dead near the Zeliangrongram Village gate. The West Police Station received a call from the village chairman at 6:30 AM on September 4. Officers found the body of a non-local male, aged roughly 35 to 40, lying near the entrance.

A police team arrived quickly. They performed an inquest with the village council chairman and local youth watching. The investigation turned up no signs of foul play. The man was shirtless and wore red and cream-colored shorts when he was discovered.

Authorities moved the body to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue after finishing legal paperwork. The morgue will handle the post-mortem examination. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) and PRO issued a statement regarding the incident. Police urge anyone with information to step forward. "Claimants, relatives, or friends of the deceased have been requested to contact the Officer-in-Charge, West Police Station, Dimapur, at 7085055024."
