Kohima: Dimapur police pulled an unidentified man from the Rail Bazaar area on September 22. Officers from the Sub-Urban Police Station arrived at 10:30 am after a tip-off. The scene was grim. Investigators performed an inquest on-site.
Officials suspect the man died from starvation. The death appears natural. After police finished the paperwork, the body moved to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue. Doctors will now perform a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death and confirm his identity.
Authorities need help. The Dimapur Police PRO issued a public plea to anyone who recognizes the deceased. "The Dimapur Police has requested the deceased's relatives, friends or anyone who may be able to identify him to contact the Officer-in-Charge of Sub-Urban Police Station at 7085055026."
