Bank Manager Arrested After Woman Found Dead in Guwahati Apartment

Guwahati: Dispur police took a 34-year-old bank manager into custody on Tuesday, October 20, following the discovery of a woman's body in a rented apartment. Officers found the victim, Dolly Kashyap, at Neha Apartment in the Hengrabari area of Guwahati.

Kashyap, a resident of Sualkuchi, Assam, worked for an insurance company. The suspect is Biswanath Das, an ICICI Life Insurance manager. Das is the son of Prafulla Kumar Das and hails from Arrah village in the Purulia district of West Bengal. Investigators arrived at the scene shortly after the discovery to begin gathering evidence.

Police reportedly recovered a suicide note at the apartment. The note specifically names Das. It details allegations of "physical and mental harassment" that supposedly drove Kashyap to take her own life. Authorities are still working to confirm the official cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing as police look into the full sequence of events leading up to the tragedy.
