Kohima: Delhi Police arrested three men for an alleged abduction attempt and assault at a Chanakyapuri five-star hotel. The violent encounter occurred in the hotel parking area around 3:30 am on October 4. Three men arrived in a white Mercedes. They were allegedly intoxicated. The group confronted a 28-year-old woman from Nagaland and her female friend, attempting to grab the women and force them into their car.

The women's male friends stepped in to stop the attack. The suspects responded with extreme violence. They allegedly beat the men with hockey sticks, iron rods, and a gear lock. One victim suffered serious injuries and required hospitalization at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The victims claimed the attackers removed the Mercedes number plate to hide their identity. When police arrived, the men reportedly tried to flee and allegedly attempted to run over the victims with the luxury vehicle.

The victims, a group of five including doctors, lawyers, and a business owner, alleged that police initially stalled the filing of an official complaint. They also reported that officers confiscated their phones and vehicle for evidence. A formal FIR was eventually registered at the Chanakyapuri police station. The charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita include Sections 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt, 126(2) for wrongful restraint, and 3(5) for acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention.

The complainant, who has lived in Delhi for years, voiced deep fears for her safety. She stated, "I have been living in Delhi for several years," while urging authorities to pursue justice for the attempted abduction and assault. Police are now reviewing CCTV footage and medical records to finalize the case files.
