Kohima: Nagaland is pushing to digitize pension records. Districts in Kiphire, Peren, and Phek are running special camps throughout November. The effort falls under the nationwide Digital Life Certificate Campaign 5, which continues through the end of the month.
Peren Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru met with health, treasury, and pension officials on November 4 to manage the rollout. Records show 600 of the 1,000 local pensioners are already set. DC Meru ordered a report on the remaining 400 individuals to fix data errors. He stated, "The Treasury Officer to prepare a list of the remaining pensioners, detailing the reasons and discrepancies hindering their digitisation, to facilitate necessary assistance."
Operations in Peren run on all working days from 10 am to 1 pm. Camps are located at the Additional Deputy Commissioner offices in Jalukie and Peren. Staff will provide on-the-spot Aadhaar help and free medical check-ups. Phek is running a similar operation at the Deputy Commissioner office from November 2 to 30. Collaboration between the District Treasury Office and the Chief Medical Officer ensures medical support remains available.
Pensioners must bring their Aadhaar cards, Pension Payment Order books, bank details, and smartphones. Kiphire officials finalized their own strategy during a November 3 meeting at the Deputy Commissioner office. Authorities are now pushing all eligible residents to show up before the November 30 deadline.
