Kiphire students urged to target 90 percent on board exams

Kohima: Rev Fr Thomas Toretkiu challenged 290 students at Loyola Higher Secondary School in Kiphire to aim for 90 percent marks on their upcoming Nagaland Board of School Education exams. He spoke to Class 10 and 12 students on November 4 under the theme of Dream Big, Study Smart, Work Hard and Achieve Excellence.

The clock is ticking. Students have about 90 days to prepare before the tests start. Fr Toretkiu told the attendees, "90% Is My Goal — Discipline Is My Path — Success Will Be My Reward." He warned against cramming and pushed for a steady, structured study schedule.

He told the group to drop rote learning in favor of understanding concepts. He wants students to practice math and science problems daily while focusing on reading and writing to sharpen language skills. Frequent review of old test papers and a clean, quiet workspace will keep them on track.

Good health and discipline matter. Students should remember the hard work their parents put in to keep them in school. Principal Rev Fr Philip Magh opened the session with a prayer, while school captain proposed a final vote of thanks to close the event.
