Modern College Hosts Fourth Annual Autumn Fiesta

Kohima: Modern College in Piphema staged its fourth Autumn Fiesta on October 10. The event, themed Vintage Retro, mixed music, sports, and creative displays for students and visitors. Festivities kicked off with a ribbon-cutting at 9:30 am, followed by an opening program at 10 am.

Grace Gonmei and Renchumlo N Ngullie hosted the event. Lhingmoichong Singson led the invocation before Principal Dr. Vitsou Yano welcomed the crowd. Keneinguzo Keyho and Seketuno Dahou performed music. Deven Bhosle, Commandant Officer of the 78 Battalion CRPF, acted as the special guest. He pushed students to value old habits and character. He told the audience, "the future depends on what you do today."

The Modern Rhapsody singing competition drew 18 performers. Judges Aduozo Keretsü, Kedovituo Peseyie, and Vetholu Rhakho crowned Y Libeni of Modern College as the winner. Hito H Yeptho from Mt Olive College took second, and Keneilhoulie of Norman Putsure College placed third.

Fifty-four athletes competed in arm wrestling and dumbbell holds. Power Gym, LFG, and the Modern College Alumni Association organized these strength tests. Meanwhile, 51 teams faced off in a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament. Team TWM grabbed the top spot, followed by Team OSC and Team EZZ WIN. Player TWM*ICE earned the MVP title.

Campus stalls served food and refreshments throughout the day. Prizes went to the best costumes and stall setups before a DJ ended the evening. The event encouraged students to build connections and showcase their skills.
