Kohima: The Chümoukedima Town Students’ Union hosted an Inter School Literary Meet from October 7 to 9, 2026. Events took place at the CTC Hall and CPO Hall in Chümoukedima Town. The event ran under the theme: Empowering Young Minds Through Creativity, Knowledge and Purpose.
Diezevisie Nakhro, president of the Angami Students’ Union, served as the guest of honour. He addressed the attendees with a clear message. "Urged the younger generation to remain firmly anchored to their cultural identity, native dialects and community values alongside modern academic pursuits," Nakhro stated. He wants students to balance tradition with schoolwork.
Students competed in a wide array of categories. Contests included drawing, science and innovation, poem recitation, and extempore speech. Others showcased talent in dance, folk song, and an anti bullying short film contest. The union also brought in experts for youth empowerment sessions. The Highlander Institute coached students on career readiness. Meanwhile, the Kripa Foundation ran workshops on substance abuse prevention.
Representatives from several local groups attended the sessions. Members from the Chakhroma Students’ Union, Chümoukedima Town Mechü Khrotho, and the Chümoukedima Town Youth Organisation were all present at the venue.
