Kohima: Workshops for the NITI TARA initiative finished in Nagaland on July 17 and 18. The events took place in the Kiphire Aspirational District and the Khongsa Aspirational Block. These sessions aimed to boost evidence-based planning and monitoring. Officials learned to use data to fix local problems.
Rajesh Mandal from EdCIL, Guwahati, acted as the resource person for both locations. Takatemjen Pongen, the nodal officer for Kiphire, led the district meeting. Ningsangwu, the Aspirational Block Fellow, chaired the session in Khongsa. The program opened with a video message from NITI Aayog CEO Nidhi Chhibber. Participants then introduced themselves and dove into the material.
The training highlighted Toolkits for Analysis, Review and Action. These tools help staff make better decisions in aspirational areas. Heads of departments and local officials attended. They tackled data analysis and review mechanisms in interactive group settings. The group discussed local priorities and developmental gaps. They walked away with concrete steps to improve governance.
The sessions finished with a clear commitment from local leadership. Officials promised to weave these tools into their daily work. They will keep working with facilitators for technical support. The report from DIPR notes the initiative is designed to support "data-driven planning, monitoring and decision-making in aspirational districts and blocks." All involved are now ready to put their new action plans to work.
