Kohima: District Planning and Development Board members in Tuensang and Kiphire met on July 15, 2026. Both districts cleared schemes under the Local Area Development Programme for the 2026-27 fiscal year. Meetings took place at the respective DC Conference Halls.
In Tuensang, MLA and board chairman Imtichoba led the session alongside DC Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa. They reviewed the poor state of National Highway 202 and the Tuensang-Longleng Road. The board ordered the responsible department to fix the roads fast. Imtichoba set the tone for the session. He stated: "HoDs to discharge their duties with sincerity for the upliftment of the district."
The Tuensang board cleared LADP plans for 51 Noksen, 52 Longkhim Chare, 53 Tuensang Sadar I, and 54 Tuensang Sadar II assembly constituencies. They also set a mass social work day for August 1, 2026. Officials must submit District Commendation Award nominations by July 30. The Executive Engineer of PWD R&B gave a presentation during the event.
Kiphire DC Temsuwati Longkumer chaired the meeting in his district. The board reviewed old minutes and examined a proposal to register the META NOYA Society. Members recommended the society to state authorities for further action. Both districts finalized staff assignments for the upcoming Independence Day festivities.
