Nagaland Governor Pushes for Better Services in Tseminyu

Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishor Yadav demanded stricter oversight of development projects in Tseminyu on September 30. He met with district officials and civil society groups at the DC Conference Hall. He wants boots on the ground. Yadav told attendees to visit rural areas, talk to residents, and fix service delivery issues.

He pushed for tech-based monitoring of flagship schemes and welfare programs. The Governor views agriculture, horticulture, livestock, and poultry as key engines for local growth. He wants the administration to group producers, improve packaging, and get Tseminyu products into broader markets. "Tseminyu has potential in agriculture, horticulture, livestock and poultry," Yadav said.

The Governor identified education and healthcare as the bedrock of long-term progress. He called for primary healthcare centers to function properly and demanded reliable electricity, clean water, and better roads. He also suggested that the district leverage its Rengma Naga heritage to grow tourism.

Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch detailed the hurdles facing the area since its February 24, 2022 inception. The district lacks sufficient officers, a dedicated hospital, and colleges. Infrastructure and digital connectivity remain spotty. Gwasinlo Thong, president of Rengma Hoho, echoed these frustrations. He noted the lack of a local college forces students to travel elsewhere for degrees and brought up the need for job reservations for the Rengma community.
