Kohima: Transmission crews are cutting power across four districts. Residents in Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Peren, and Niuland should prepare for outages starting October 26 and running through November 4. The Transmission Division Dimapur ordered the work to clear vegetation around 66 kV lines. The goal is to stabilize the grid and stop random blackouts.
The 66kV Sovima-Chümoukedima line gets hit first. Power stays off from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM on October 26 in Chümoukedima. Next, crews tackle the 66kV Ganeshnagar line. Expect outages there from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on October 27 and 28, impacting parts of Chümoukedima and Peren.
Niuland faces its turn on October 30 and 31. The 66kV Dairy Farm-Nito Farm line goes dark from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Finally, the 66kV Nagarjan to Zoological Park composite line shuts down from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM between November 2 and November 4. This impacts Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Peren.
The Executive Engineer of the Transmission Division Dimapur released the schedule to keep the public informed. The office issued a request for patience during these repairs, stating, "The department has appealed to the public in the affected areas to extend cooperation and bear the inconvenience during the shutdown period."
