Substation Failure Cuts Power to Kohima and Surrounding Villages

Kohima: A broken 11kV Indoor Vacuum Circuit Breaker knocked out power across Kohima on Monday morning. The failure struck the Bazaar Feeder at the 132/33/11kV Receiving Sub-Station. Power is gone.

Transmission Division Executive Engineer officials confirmed the damage occurred on July 13. The outage hit parts of Kohima town along with the villages of Jotsoma, Khonoma, Mezoma, and Poilwa.

Department crews are now rushing to bypass the damaged equipment. They are making "all-out effort to restore power supply by making alternate arrangements at the earliest."

Officials asked residents to hang tight while teams fix the grid. The department thanked the public for their patience during the blackout.
