Kohima: The Power Department and the Niuland Deputy Commissioner ordered temporary blackouts to handle system maintenance and tree trimming. These outages start September 11. Kohima faces a total shutdown of the 132kV Main Bus at the 132/33/11kV RESS station. This runs from 5 AM to 8 AM.
The power cut impacts Kohima town, the Western Angami area, plus sections of the Southern Angami and Chozouba regions. Officials ask that locals tolerate the disruption. The Power Department stated, "The Power Department has requested consumers and the public in the affected areas to cooperate and bear with the inconvenience during the shutdown period."
Niuland district starts vegetation clearance on September 11. Crews will clear growth along 11KV lines. The Niuland-Aghunaqa 11KV feeder shuts down from 6 AM to 12 PM. The Deputy Commissioner ordered Village Council Chairmen, Head GBs, and Village Electricity Management Boards to help with this work. Linemen will assist in each village.
A second outage hits the Yankili feeder on September 18. This closure also lasts from 6 AM to 12 PM. The district office expects full cooperation from the public during these maintenance windows.

The Power Department has rolled out an extensive maintenance and vegetation clearance schedule for 33kV transmission lines across the region. Starting September 14 and running through October 1, crews will implement total power shutdowns daily from 9 AM to 4 PM to keep lines stable and ward off future outages.
The impact hits several specific corridors. September 14 targets the NU Meriema, IG Stadium, and Thizama areas. The 15th brings outages to the NU Meriema, IG Stadium, Thizama, Kohima Village, Rusoma, Chedema, Lerie, and Southern Angami areas. Lerie and Southern Angami follow on the 16th. Work on the 17th and 18th shuts down power in the Lalmati, Zubza, and Duilumroi SHP zones, with the 19th focusing on Lalmati and Zubza. Power to Duilumroi SHP drops on the 21st and 22nd.
Additional maintenance hits the Southern Angami and Chozouba regions on September 23 and 24. Northern Angami gets hit on the 25th, followed by Chiethu, Botsa, and Pghuboto from the 26th through the 28th. The maintenance push concludes with shutdowns in the Zhadima area on September 29 and 30, and finally Viphoma on October 1.
