Kohima: The Department of Power is cutting the juice in Dimapur. Urgent maintenance on the 66 kV Power House, Dairy Farm, and Nito Farm transmission line kicks off Monday, August 24. Expect the lights to stay off from 5 am until 8 am.
Three major substations go dark during this window. The 2x10 MVA Power House Substation, the 10 MVA Dairy Farm Substation, and the 10 MVA Nito Farm Substation are all slated for shutdown. These facilities feed a massive chunk of the region.
The Power House, located at Burma Camp, feeds the Airport, Purana Bazar, Veterinary, Town, and Power House feeders. The Dairy Farm site covers Zani, Darogajan, Shozukhu, Kuhuboto, and Vihokhu. Meanwhile, the Nito Farm Substation handles the rural borders of the Dimapur and Niuland districts.
The Executive Engineer of the Transmission Division in Dimapur addressed the incoming disruption. He said, "The Department of Power will undertake urgent maintenance work on the 66 kV Power House–Dairy Farm–Nito Farm transmission line on August 24." He asked for consumer cooperation and expressed regret for the trouble this maintenance causes.
