Nagaon MP-elect Debasish Sharma saves accident victim

Guwahati: Nagaon MP-elect Debasish Sharma pulled an unconscious, critically injured man from the side of the Nagaon-Morigaon road early on October 12. He spotted the victim while driving and immediately jumped out to help. Sharma carried the man in his arms, loaded him into his own vehicle, and rushed him to the hospital for treatment.

The victim's identity and condition remain unknown. Sharma recently secured a major political win in the Nagaon Lok Sabha bypoll. He beat AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal by 141,916 votes, finishing with 713,622 votes compared to Ajmal’s 570,413. Congress candidate Sibamoni Bora trailed in third with 128,743 votes.

Victory triggered wild scenes across Nagaon. BJP supporters flooded the streets, waving saffron flags and lighting firecrackers to the rhythm of traditional drums. Hundreds of workers swarmed the local party office. They chanted, "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "BJP Zindabad" while covering each other in colored powder.
