Kohima: Nagaland officials are pushing ahead with the Reform Utsav 2026 initiative. They held high-level meetings in Longleng, Phek, and Meluri districts on September 7 and 8. The goal is to prepare for a statewide governance overhaul. Public outreach starts this month. The government plans to go live with its portal on October 2, 2026.
In Phek on September 7, Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Ngouri led discussions at the DC Conference Hall. Sarita Yadav, the State Nodal Officer for Phek and Meluri, explained the core program components to local leaders. She told the room that "community participation was of utmost importance" for the effort to succeed. The state modeled this initiative after the Viksit Bharat 2047 plan to drive broad local improvements.
Meluri Deputy Commissioner Phuleshe K. Yepthomi joined the meeting. He asked Phek district heads to ensure staff posted in Meluri receive proper guidance on the rollout. Officials Neitsho Wezah and various heads of departments also attended. Yadav instructed both the Phek and Meluri DCs to form district-level committees before the month ends.
Longleng held a separate session at the DBDP Hall on September 8. Deputy Commissioner W. Manpai Phom chaired the meeting. Commissioner and Secretary Kekhrievor Kevichusa represented the Urban Development and Municipal Affairs department as the district nodal officer. He briefed local civil society representatives and officials on future plans. Phom directed his team to create block and district committees immediately to keep the pace up.
