Police and BSF Seize Gun and Drugs in Tripura Raid

Agartala: Tripura Police and BSF personnel captured two men during a Saturday raid in the Sonamura sub-division of Sepahijala district. The operation targeted the South Kalamchoura area, also known as Galachipa, following a tip from intelligence sources.

Officers identified the suspects as 37-year-old Joynal Hossen of Madhya Boxanagar and 35-year-old Prasanjit Sarkar of South Kalamchoura. The raid involved the Kalamchoura and Sonamura police departments working alongside members of the 81-Bn BSF. The Sonamura SDPO led the mission.

The team found a factory-made pistol, five live rounds, and 120 grams of Yaba tablets on the suspects. Police said, "The joint team recovered and seized 120 grams of YABA tablets, one factory-made pistol and five live rounds from the possession of the following two persons." Authorities are now filing charges under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act as the investigation proceeds.
