Agartala: Security forces seized 362.1 kg of dry cannabis near the India-Bangladesh border. The haul is worth Rs 72.4 lakh. Tripura Police, the Border Security Force, and the Tripura State Rifles conducted the raid together. They hit the Kamalnagar Ghatighar area in the Sepahijala district.

Personnel from the Sonamura Police Station worked with the 81 Battalion of the BSF and the 11th Battalion of the Tripura State Rifles. They moved in after getting intelligence about hidden drugs. The operation lasted from 12:30 am to 5:30 am. They found 11 plastic drums packed with the contraband.

Sonamura Police Station Officer-in-Charge Tapas Das said the raid followed reports of "narcotics being concealed in the area." Police took the stash into custody after the search. They have now registered a case to hunt down the trafficking ring. Officials are currently investigating the local supply chain. This strike is part of a wider push to stop drug smuggling along the border.
