Agartala: Tripura Police caught a suspected drug peddler in Charipara. The village sits on the outskirts of Agartala. Amtali Police led the operation with backup from the Tripura State Rifles and the Border Security Force. They acted on specific intelligence inputs to target the area. Officials seized 20 grams of heroin and a stash of yaba tablets.
The haul carries a black market price tag of 10 lakh rupees. Officers also took four mobile phones from the scene. Rana Chatterjee, the Officer-in-Charge at Amtali Police Station, confirmed the arrest. He noted, "The arrested person would be produced before a court, where the police would seek custody for further investigation."
Cops think the suspect fed the drug trade in and around Agartala. The investigation now turns to mapping out the wider trafficking network along the border. Police expect more arrests soon. They are sifting through evidence to track down other members of the operation.
