Police Seize Pistol and Ammo in Border Raid

Agartala: Tripura Police busted a laborer at his home in Bhagalpur. They arrested Santosh Biswas during a late-night operation on Wednesday, October 14. The village sits right against the international border in West Tripura. Airport Police Station Officer-in-Charge N. Gopal Deb confirmed the arrest after his team acted on a secret tip.

Officers expected to find contraband but hit a different stash. They hauled away a factory-made pistol, 14 live rounds, a magazine, a holster, and gun oil. "Although we did not find the suspected contraband items, we recovered a factory-made pistol, 14 live rounds of ammunition, a pistol pouch, one magazine and oil used for cleaning the firearm, along with other items," said Deb.

Police have no record of Biswas committing crimes before this. They cordoned off the house and brought in witnesses before starting the search. A forensic team is now checking the gear. Investigators are currently tracing where the weapon came from and if Biswas has deeper ties to illegal operations. The state booked him under the Arms Act.
