Kohima: The North East Zone Cultural Centre is marking Independence Day with the Rhythms of Freedom Tiranga Charity Concert. The event hits the stage August 15 at the Stone Sculpture Garden amphitheatre in Dimapur. Every cent earned from tickets and donations goes to families hit by flash floods and landslides across Nagaland.
NEZCC Director Alobo Naga spoke about the event at a press conference on August 10. He explained that the show aims to foster community support rather than just providing music. "This event carries a civil message," Naga said during the briefing held at the NEZCC office near 3rd Mile.
Tickets cost Rs 100. Fans can buy them through Ahibi or at the venue. Donors can also use a QR code on the Ahibi website. Musika Events is running the production with backing from Kaki, Ahibi, and the State Bank of India. Organizers guarantee total transparency for all funds raised.
The lineup features Nise Meruno, Sunep Lemtur, Kekhrie Ringa, Hentok Konyak, Lenen Jamir, and Kivika Achumi. The Cantamus Choir, Colored Keys, Hopong Naga, and the Tetso College Choir will also perform. Surprise guests remain under wraps for now. Beyond the music, the Nepali, Gorkha, Bihari, Bengali, and Punjab communities are stepping up as contributors. Local food and activities will come from the Nagaland Street Food Association, Nagaland Coffee, and The Big Fun Factory.
