Agartala: Parents and students shut down the Dhan Singh Choudhury English Medium Memorial Primary HS School on Thursday. They locked the gates and swarmed the Kumarghat to Kanchanpur road. Traffic ground to a halt. The protest hit the Kumarghat subdivision hard as families demanded immediate action from local authorities.

Nearly 400 students attend the morning shift at the school. Only four teachers remain on staff to handle the massive enrollment. This staffing gap has left classroom instruction in total disarray. Families claim that repeated appeals to the education department fell on deaf ears, leading to a long-standing crisis in the building.

Protesters stood their ground on the main road until officials acknowledged the failure. One agitator stated, "Unless a permanent solution is found, the agitation will intensify in the coming days." The group insists the government must act now to save the future of hundreds of local children. While the demonstration remained peaceful, the participants warned that they would not back down until the staffing shortage ends.
