Kohima: Nagaland election officials hit a milestone in the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll. By 4 pm on August 31, the state digitized 646,580 Enumeration Forms. This covers 47.64% of the total 13,57,208 voters. The clock is ticking. The house-to-house collection period ends on September 14.
Distribution efforts nearly reached the finish line. The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer reports 13,19,476 forms are in circulation, marking 97.22% coverage. Mokokchung, Longleng, Noklak, and Tseminyu reached 100% distribution. Shamator and Mon lag behind at 92.07% and 92.32% respectively.
Digitization rates vary wildly across the state. Pughoboto leads the pack at 67.16% completion. Kiphire follows at 64.34%, Meluri at 61.68%, and Mon at 58.32%. Tuensang, Zunheboto, and Peren also cleared the 50% threshold. Noklak trails significantly at 28.49%. Digital submissions show a slight bump, with 860 electors filing online compared to 799 on August 29.
The state has two weeks to finish the heavy lifting. The office noted the "house-to-house distribution and collection exercise" continues until the mid-September deadline. Officials plan to publish the draft electoral roll on September 20. The final list arrives November 22, 2026.
