Kohima: Nagaland has pushed through the bulk of its Special Intensive Revision for electoral rolls. As of 6 pm on September 6, officials digitized 10,68,281 enumeration forms. This covers 78.71% of the 13,57,208 total electors. State distribution is almost finished. Workers handed out 13,55,970 forms, hitting a 99.91% completion rate.
Despite the progress, 82,918 forms remain uncollected. This represents 6.1% of the electorate. Officials note that “uncollectable” EFs generally refers to forms concerning existing electors who have died, permanently shifted from the area, are untraceable, or are already enrolled in the electoral roll.
Dimapur is lagging on data entry. Despite a 100% distribution rate, it shows 28,581 uncollectable forms, the highest in the state. Chümoukedima follows with 13,173 uncollectable forms, while Kohima has 11,903. Conversely, Mon reports the lowest rate of uncollectable forms at 1.11%.
Digitization rates vary across districts. Pughoboto leads at 95.34%, followed by Kiphire at 93.18%. Chümoukedima sits at the bottom with 64.02% digitized. Dimapur follows at 68.98%.
The current house-to-house phase runs until September 14. The state will publish the draft electoral roll on September 20. Residents have until October 20 to file claims and objections. Authorities will finish resolving those disputes by November 18. The final roll arrives November 22, 2026.
