Kohima: Nagaland Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Power K G Kenye called on Eastern Nagaland residents to leverage the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) for real growth. He spoke at the silver jubilee of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Kohima (ENPUK) held in Kohima on Tuesday, October 20. He demanded better governance and smarter money management.
The central government, the Nagaland state government, and the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation signed the FNTA Memorandum of Agreement in New Delhi on February 5. The Nagaland Assembly then passed the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority Bill, 2026, on September 3. This act cleared the legal path for the new system.
Kenye urged leaders to stop repeating old mistakes. He wants the region to focus on long-term goals instead of short-term fixes. The minister told the crowd, "Funds must be allocated and utilised prudently, keeping the region’s developmental priorities and the interests of future generations in mind."
The minister believes the new setup gives the region a fresh start. He pushed the community to honor traditional Naga values while building a new future. ENPUK’s milestone provided the backdrop for this push toward administrative reform.
