Tikhir Tribal Council Cracks Down on Impersonators

Kohima: The Tikhir Tribal Council (TTC) met in Kiusam Town on October 1, 2026, to issue a firm directive against those stalling the Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organization (ENPO) Frontier Naga Territorial Authority (FNTA) process. The council backed a resolution from the August 11, 2026, ENPO meeting in Chen village, Chumoukedima, which demands accountability for anyone blocking progress.

Trouble started with a group using the TTC letterhead. This self-styled executive faction, led by R T Kius and his associates, faces heavy consequences for sabotage. The council officially declared this group null and void during a September 1, 2026, consultative meeting involving village councils and frontal organizations. TTC leaders made their stance clear: "Individuals or entities obstructing or prolonging the FNTA process will be held directly accountable."

Villages must take stern action against these impersonators before October 9, 2026. Any village that fails to act will be held responsible for the obstruction. The council also served a show-cause notice to R T Kius and his co-signatories, ordering them to report to the Kiusam headquarters to face discipline. Furthermore, the TTC banned all media engagement, including television, print, and YouTube channels, regarding its legitimacy or its interim representatives to the FNTA. Those who ignore this warning will be labeled as acting solely in their own self-interest.
