Chisholimi Baptist Church Claims First SABTF Penalty Shootout Victory

Kohima: Chisholimi Baptist Church snatched the title at the first Sumi Aphuyemi Baptist Theological Fellowship (SABTF) Open Penalty Shootout Tournament. The event took place October 17 at the Pughoboto Local Ground. It was organized by SABAK Pughoboto. Fearless FC from Kohima finished as first runner-up. Fearless FC player Awoto took home the Best Goalkeeper Award.

Enoch S Wotsa, a Dimapur Municipal Council councillor, opened the event as guest of honour. He praised the local community for steady progress in sports and exams under the Nagaland Public Service Commission and Nagaland Staff Selection Board. He pointed to Tolino’s entry into the Indian Administrative Service as proof of what hard work delivers. It brings honour to the community.

Wotsa credited church ministries for running programs that mix sports, fellowship, and faith. He believes these events help build character and identify raw talent. He urged the crowd to treat the competition as a path to seek divine guidance rather than just a show for guests. Hard work requires patience.

Quoting Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, Wotsa noted, "I trained for four years to run for nine seconds, and people give up when they don’t see results in two months." He thanked the pastors and leaders for their commitment to the spiritual and social growth of the youth. The event concluded with calls for unity and fellowship.
