New Book Explores Diversity of Northeast India

Kohima: Dr. Norbert Noraho launched a new book in Jakhama on October 19. The retired director of Higher Education for the Government of Nagaland unveiled the work titled North East India, Paradise Unexplored. It is the third book by author Rev Fr C Joseph.

The book covers the eight states of the region. This includes the Seven Sisters: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura. Sikkim, known as the brother state, completes the list. The text moves past simple travel writing. The author claims it acts as a tribute to the spirit and diversity of the region.

Rev Fr C Joseph serves as a counsellor at St. Joseph’s College, Autonomous, in Jakhama. He is also a priest of the Diocese of Kohima. He has built a portfolio beyond writing, having produced music albums in English and Tamil. He previously wrote The Bible Quiz Book and Mary Mother of God: Marian Primer. These earlier efforts focused on religious themes, but this project marks a shift toward regional study.

According to the author, the book goes beyond describing places and serves as a tribute to the spirit and diversity of Northeast India, comprising eight states.
