Agartala: Tipra Motha MLA Paul Dangshu demanded an immediate arrest on October 20. He wants action against Amir Shokeen, a self-proclaimed content creator caught on camera harassing a youth from Tripura in Delhi. The video shows the man hurling racist remarks, offensive slurs, and degrading gestures at the victim. He even mocked the youth by calling him Chinese.
Dangshu lashed out at the behavior. He stated that racial abuse is not content. "Racial abuse and humiliation could not be justified in the name of humour or content creation." The legislator argued that freedom of speech does not grant anyone a license to target or insult citizens from the Northeast.
The MLA pressed the Delhi Police and the Delhi Chief Minister’s Office to launch a full investigation. He wants consequences for the accused. Dangshu is also pushing for better protections to ensure people from Tripura can work, live, and study anywhere in the country without fearing discrimination.
