Agartala: Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma expects a government notification on land rights within days. He signaled that New Delhi is gearing up to resume formal talks regarding the Tiprasa Accord. Debbarma spoke to reporters Thursday at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport following discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

He anticipates an invitation for further negotiations in the capital. "Regarding land issues, a notification may be issued today or tomorrow. We will proceed further based on its recommendations. I think they are calling us to Delhi," he stated.

This expected move jumpstarts the long-delayed implementation of the accord. The process originally faced a timeline tied to the Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. Debbarma pushed for speed to protect the interests of the indigenous Tiprasa community. He warned that further delays hurt the state.

Debbarma recently stepped back from active politics but remains locked into his advocacy for the Tiprasa people. He confirmed that Tipra Motha will not weaken its stance on the accord. "People do not need to worry. As long as I am alive, I am not merely Tipra Motha's Tiprasa; I am a Tiprasa," he vowed. He also urged the community to reject internal division to keep the pressure on for peace and development.
