Agartala: Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma declared on August 25 that his party has no formal alliance deals with any national political group. He remains firm on his conditions. Any potential partner must prove they will protect the rights and futures of indigenous people in Tripura. No official offers have arrived yet.
Pradyot refuses to chase power for its own sake. He insists that any political movement must deliver tangible benefits for his people rather than just seats for the elite. "If leaders get something and my indigenous people do not get anything, I don't think I want to do such politics," he said. The party will wait for the formal election announcement before making any firm decisions.
The group stands ready to run alone. They have a history of fighting solo in the TTAADC, Assembly, and upcoming Village Council elections. Pradyot also cleared the air regarding local tensions. He claims the party is not targeting Bengali residents. "We are not fighting with Bengalis in Tripura. We are fighting to protect our land and to protect our future," he stated.
He expressed worry about illegal entries from Bangladesh, specifically mentioning Patharkandi and shifts in local demographics. Despite these concerns, he pledged to uphold the rights of non-tribal residents currently living inside the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. He expects those citizens to live peacefully under existing laws while his party works to secure the land and interests of indigenous groups.
