Agartala: Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma slammed the door on a BJP alliance ahead of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council village council elections. He demanded the Centre implement the Tiprasa Accord first. No accord means no deal. He spoke directly to his base via Facebook and a livestream on Sunday.

Debbarma said, "There is speculation about an alliance, but I want to make it clear that if we enter into an alliance for posts or ministerial berths, the existence of Tipra Motha and the indigenous people will be nowhere." He rejected the idea of trading the community's future for individual gain. Ministerial berths and Block Advisory Committee chairmanships do not interest him. Only 10 to 15 people would benefit from such deals. Millions would lose out.

The upcoming vote involves 587 seats. Both the BJP and Tipra Motha are feeling the heat. Debbarma noted his recent Supreme Court intervention cleared the path for the elections. He insisted his representatives prioritize the community over personal perks. Politics must not overshadow the survival of future generations.

The royal scion keeps a firm stance: "First give my people their rights and then we will talk." He reiterated that land rights for the Tiprasa people remain a primary concern. Debbarma pledged to retire from active politics once the Tiprasa Accord is implemented. He plans to step into an advisory role to guide the next generation. For now, he keeps the slogan simple: No talks, no alliance.
