Agartala: Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma is shaking up the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. He announced a new reforms committee on Tuesday to clean up the council's recruitment process. The leader vowed to kill any illegal hiring practices moving forward. Debbarma ordered the cancellation of a recent recruitment exam following reports of irregularities. He wants to protect the council's reputation. He stated, "Not a single illegal job will be given in the TTAADC. New procedures will be followed."
The reforms committee will pull in young entrepreneurs, writers, and artists to build new leadership. Debbarma believes old-school politics failed his party. He plans to release the official committee notification shortly. This overhaul follows the party's return to power during the April 2026 elections.
Debbarma also pushed the central government to restart stalled negotiations on the Tiprasa Accord. Four months have passed since the vote. He maintains his party is not an enemy of the state but is focused on securing the future for the next generation. "Talks on the Tiprasa Accord must resume now. We are not against the Government of India; we are working for the future of our next generation," he said.
The politician addressed his recent absence from public life. He blamed his time away on personal medical treatment and his mother's health. He pushed back against critics who questioned his dedication during recent student protests and the controversy involving party member Sanjana Debbarma. He remains firm. "Never question my commitment to my community, my people and my cause," he said.
