Agartala: Tipra Motha expects a landslide win in Tripura’s Village Committee elections. Party leaders project securing 470 to 500 of the 587 total committees when counting wraps up on October 5. Senior party officials, MLAs, and Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) representatives met Saturday to review polling data from September 28. They expect the combined tally with the NDA to exceed 500 seats.
State Minister Brishaketu Debbarma claims internal assessments show the party is set to sweep 80 to 90 percent of the contests. Feedback from across the region supports this confidence. "We have assessed the situation across different areas and believe that the results will largely be in our favour. We expect to secure between 470 and 500 seats out of the total 587 Village Committees. Along with the NDA, the number would cross 500," one party leader said.
The electoral map covers 4,597 seats total. The State Election Commission reports 1,561 Tipra Motha candidates already secured their spots unopposed. Voters cast ballots for the remaining 2,950 seats last month. The party intends to station representatives at all counting centers to monitor the process until the final results are announced.
