Agartala: Tripura State Election Commissioner Pradip Kumar Chakraborty ramped up pressure on local officials this week. The team dissected election rules, nomination scrutiny, candidate lists, and vote counting procedures.

The state government and the Election Commission recently filed a joint affidavit with the Supreme Court. They pledged to follow a strict timeline. The goal remains clear: get the polls done by September. Chakraborty insisted on total operational readiness. "Detailed discussions were held on all aspects of the election so that the Returning Officers are fully prepared to conduct the process smoothly," he said.

Security remains the primary hurdle. Chakraborty already met with police brass to plot out potential trouble spots. Planners intend to hold follow-up sessions to finalize deployment strategies.
