Wokha Officials Ban Document Collection During Voter Roll Update

Kohima: Wokha district officials issued a sharp warning to election workers this week. Booth Level Officers conducting the Special Intensive Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls must stop collecting identity documents from residents. The Deputy Commissioner made the rules clear. No Aadhaar cards or extra paperwork are needed during the house to house collection of Enumeration Forms.

The only item required at this stage is a photograph. Officials aim to keep the voter list accurate and inclusive. They warned that electors should not face any extra hurdles. The DC office stated, "Electors must not be subjected to inconvenience or compelled to produce documents not prescribed under the instructions for the SIR exercise."

Exceptions only apply if a name fails to match the 2005 roll or if data errors pop up after the draft publication. In those specific cases, citizens must report to the Assembly Constituency Electoral Registration Officers or Assistant Electoral Registration Officers. You will need to bring proof to those meetings. Residents should hand over their completed forms to visiting staff to help finish the job on time.
