Poumai Naga groups demand probe into smear campaign against Kamjong SP

Imphal: Three Poumai Naga organizations in Imphal want answers. The Poumai Naga Union, the Poumai Naga Naotumai Me, and the Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me have formally condemned a smear campaign targeting Kamjong Superintendent of Police Tholu Rocky. Online accounts recently spread false, defamatory claims about the officer.

The groups warned the state government not to base official actions on unverified web gossip. They fear the recent transfer of the SP was influenced by these dishonest social media reports. The organizations demanded a public explanation for the sudden move, calling for the government to review or revoke the decision to ensure administrative fairness.

Lack of clear policy hurts bureaucrats. In a joint statement, the groups stated, "The absence of a clear governance policy posed challenges for bureaucrats." They now expect authorities to investigate the source of the misinformation and hold the guilty parties accountable.
