Guwahati: Assam is pushing hard to build a workforce ready for the future. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma touted the state's progress on July 15 during World Youth Skills Day. He claims the youth drive the vision of a Viksit Assam and a Viksit Bharat.

The government is embedding skill education into more than 1,700 schools across the state. They also run industry-linked training programs and back institutions like the Assam Skill University. These moves aim to give young workers the technical edge required to compete in a tough global economy.

Sarma wants to turn ambition into action. "Assam's young people are transforming ambition into achievement and playing a key role in the state's development journey," he said in a post on X. The state plans to keep pouring money into these programs. Officials believe this work will create more jobs and support long-term economic gains.
