Assam Education Leaders Push Policy Reform and Honor Outgoing Minister

Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu set the stage for academic reform on July 24. He spoke at the Public Works Department Conference and Training Centre in Guwahati. The event marked the first state-level convention of the Sadou Assam Madhyamik Xnatak Shikshak Mancha. Pegu pushed teachers to adopt the National Education Policy, or NEP. He wants every student to become a responsible, skilled citizen.

Meanwhile, the state government bid farewell to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared his praise on July 25 via the social platform X. He credited Pradhan with clearing political hurdles to install the NEP nationwide. Sarma specifically lauded the opening of the Indian Institute of Management in Guwahati as a win for the state.

Sarma praised his colleague's legacy. "As Union Education Minister, he worked tirelessly to restore the civilisational spirit of Bharat and to decolonise our education system," Sarma wrote. He claimed Pradhan always stood by Assam when help was needed. The Chief Minister wished the outgoing leader good health and future success.
