Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma plans to grow the Nijut Moina scheme next year. He wants to include students enrolled in B.Sc Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery courses. This move adds professional medical students to the current student aid program.

Sarma shared the news on October 15 at the Jyoti-Bishnu Auditorium in Guwahati. He was there to hand out the first installment of cash for the Nijut Moina and Nijut Babu schemes. It is a festive gift for students before the Durga Puja holiday. They welcomed the Chief Minister to the stage.

The state government currently supports a massive group of learners. Education Department official Narayan Konwar confirmed that the Nijut Moina scheme has already reached 6.13 lakh girl students across Assam. The government expects to share more details on the expansion soon. Sarma emphasized the impact of these programs, noting, "The schemes are part of the state government’s initiatives to provide financial support to students."
