Assam Chief Minister Vows Support for Teachers on Teachers Day

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma marked Teachers Day on Saturday, September 5, with a public promise to back the state's educators. He highlighted their fundamental role in building a robust society. The state government intends to keep working on professional growth initiatives to help teachers perform their duties with greater effectiveness.

Sarma addressed the public in a social media post. He stated, "Teachers lay the foundation of a strong society and I have always been a vocal supporter of their welfare and growth, despite facing many difficulties." He further clarified the government's ongoing stance on the matter. "Today, on #TeachersDay, we reiterate our commitment towards their welfare and empowering them to teach better," he wrote.

Teachers Day falls on September 5 every year. It honors the birth anniversary of the late Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a former President of India and a renowned educationist.
