Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Assam Regiment War Memorial in Shillong on August 29. He stood before the monument to honor the troops who died while defending the country. The air felt heavy. He recognized the soldiers for their grit and their ultimate sacrifice.
Sarma took to X to share his visit with the public. He noted that the regiment has a long history of showing courage and commitment under fire. The Chief Minister stated that the bravery of these fallen personnel serves as a guide for the next generation. He wants young people to serve the nation with the same level of patriotism.
The Chief Minister praised the soldiers who put their duty above their own lives. He emphasized that the legacy of these martyrs must remain clear in the minds of all citizens. He ended his formal tribute at the site by saying, "Jai Hind."
