Guwahati: Dhubri district is changing its school hours. Rising temperatures forced the move. Starting August 31, 2026, all government, provincialized, self-base, and private schools will follow a new schedule until further notice.

The Inspector of Schools issued the order under the direction of the District Commissioner. LP schools will run from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM. UP, ME, and MV schools operate from 7:30 AM to 12:00 noon. High, higher secondary, and senior secondary schools will close by 12:30 PM after starting at 7:30 AM.

Administrators must keep students safe. Authorities directed schools to hold assemblies and outdoor activities in shaded areas or on verandahs. Schools must ensure electric fans work and fix any broken units immediately. Students should keep water bottles nearby and stay hydrated throughout the day.

The mandate includes clear instructions for emergencies. The official order states, "if any student experiences health-related discomfort, the guardian must be informed immediately and the student should be taken to the nearest hospital or healthcare institution for urgent medical attention."
