Guwahati: More than 30,000 supporters flooded Nalbari on October 13 to back the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The massive pro-government turnout filled the Nalbari Assembly constituency. Local MLA and Cabinet Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah joined Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia and state organising secretary Ravindra Raju on site. Several district legislators also attended the event.
The crowd displayed placards reading "Careers Over Chaos" to focus on jobs and education. Young attendees praised the state for what they termed a transparent recruitment process. One job seeker noted that the drive had "strengthened their confidence in pursuing employment opportunities within the state." Supporters pointed to new medical colleges and industrial projects as proof of the government's success.
The mood shifted to politics. Speakers attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the opposition's stance on the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Participants backed the verification process, citing fears of illegal immigration. They alleged the Congress party fought the audit to protect its own political interests. While some accused opposition leaders of foreign influence, those claims remain unverified. Organisers provided the attendance figure, which has not been checked by independent sources.
