BJP Rallies 25,000 in Silchar to Attack Congress

Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party packed Silchar with over 25,000 supporters during its Jan Jagaran Samavesh rally. The event marched through the Cachar district streets to push a message of national unity while hammering the Congress for what party speakers labeled as divisive politics. A long list of top brass attended, including Minister Kaushik Rai, Rajya Sabha MPs Kanad Purkayastha and Sushmita Dev, and Lok Sabha MP Parimal Suklabaidya. MLAs Rajdeep Goala, Rajdeep Roy, and Amiyo Kanti Das joined other functionaries on the stage.

Minister Kaushik Rai swung hard at Rahul Gandhi during his address. He accused the Congress of running anti-national campaigns and insisted that the country remains firmly behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi. MLA Rajdeep Goala piled on, claiming that Gandhi’s recent treatment of a senior colleague proves he holds a poor attitude toward others. It was a pointed attack on the opposition leadership.

Sushmita Dev took the stage to challenge any claims that the Congress still holds sway over the public. She pointed to the massive crowd in Cachar as concrete proof that voters back Modi and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. "Dev also referred to the BJP’s recent rally in Nagaon, pointing to the participation of supporters at the event as an indication of the party’s public support." The rally served as a major outreach effort to solidify the party platform across Assam.
