Guwahati: Thousands of BJP supporters hit the streets Wednesday as the party launched its Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy campaign across Assam and Bihar. The Dhubri District Committee led a massive march through Golakganj, starting from the Chilarai Hari Mandir. More than 15,000 workers, residents, and local leaders joined the effort to back constitutional integrity.
Assam Cabinet Minister Ashwini Roy Sarkar headlined the Golakganj event. He accused the Congress and various NGOs of taking foreign money to fracture India's political stability. He claimed these groups undermine independent institutions, specifically targeting the Election Commission and electronic voting machines whenever they suffer electoral losses.
Senior figures including Dhubri district president Ranjit Kumar Roy, Ajay Kumar Roy, Uttam Prasad, Debajit Borkalita, Deepak Kumar Saha, Dr. Debamoy Sanyal, and Prosenjit Dutta attended. The party leadership touted the work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, asserting that the government remains focused on security and growth. Minister Sarkar said, "The gathering was not merely a BJP organisational programme but reflected public support for democracy and national stability."
The movement expanded beyond Assam. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma traveled to Bihar to march, while state president Dilip Saikia led a parallel rally in Goalpara. The BJP leveled fresh attacks against the Congress, labeling it a family-centric organization that ignores democratic norms. Party officials insisted that political differences require constitutional debate rather than tactics that incite public disorder. Organizers remain confident that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance will retain power in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections.
