Guwahati: Pradyut Bordoloi hit the ground running as a BJP member. He visited Batadrava Than to pray at the Kirtan Ghar while wearing saffron for the first time. The MLA wasted no time attacking senior Congress rivals Rakibul Hussain and Gaurav Gogoi.

Reports show friction between the Congress and Akhil Gogoi of the Raijor Dal. Bordoloi claims he saw this fallout coming. "I believe it happened the way I had anticipated, and it will continue to happen in the future as well," he said.

Bordoloi took aim at Rakibul Hussain. He blamed the former minister for unrest in Nagaon during the Congress era. He claims ordinary people struggled to walk the streets back then. Bordoloi argues that Hussain cannot control the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat just because he won in Samaguri. He asserts that voters outside Samaguri will ignore Hussain's lead.

Gaurav Gogoi recently claimed the Congress is free of sin now that Bordoloi has left. Bordoloi fired back. He pointed out that Gogoi lost his own polling booth during the 2024 Jorhat election. He noted that Gogoi only carried 19 Assembly segments in that race.

The BJP wants a stronger grip on the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency. Minority voters are a major bloc here. Bordoloi expects the political math to change. He believes the voters will back the BJP this time around.
